Religious Emblems for Cub Scouts

Pack 643 Parents: If you are interested in pursuing the Religious Emblems Program, here are some initial steps to help you get started:

Step 1: Youth members must obtain the specific booklet for their religion.
You can search for the correct program and corresponding workbook\emblem by finding and clicking on your
            faith here: http://www.praypub.org/recognitions/selectfaith.asp
Click on the image of a specific medal for more information. Once you find the appropriate medal\emblem, you can use the link provided to
purchase the workbook, OR the Deicke Scout Shop may have one in stock.  Feel free to give them a call: (630) 231-3192

Attached is the most current (i.e. 2008) BSA Duty to God that provides a general overview of the religious emblems program and answers
            to frequently asked questions.

Step 2: Parents must review the program guidelines.

Step 3: Families should talk to their religious leaders and show them the booklet before beginning any program.

Step 4: The youth member needs to complete the requirements, obtain the proper signatures, and follow the instructions to order the emblem.
Pack 643 will pay for the emblem.  Most workbooks will require my signature as well as your religious leader's signature.  Pack 643 will
also pay for the "knot" that will get presented to your scout at a Pack meeting.  The emblem typically gets presented by your religious leader during a service.
